The last couple of weeks I did some specialized playlists, starting with a roots/slow dancehall edition in week 8 followed by an Afropop special in week 9. Whilst I enjoyed putting together the dedicated playlists, more to come soon, it’s good to be back to regular scheduling. Please enjoy this week’s collection of tunes. Blessings!

Check out the spotify playlist at the bottom of this post:

This week’s playlist, in no particular order:

Jah Jah Run Tings – Tarrus Riley

This is a tune I have been feeling for a while. The riddim, 7th heaven, has already made an appearance on the playlist in recent weeks and Tarrus’ cut has been waiting in the flanks since then. This is easily listening reggae music at it’s best, nuff said. LISTEN!!!!

Memory – Mavado

I was introduced to this tune a few weeks ago by a mate and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it. The riddim itself is on point, and there are a few big tunes on it, but Mavado takes the top spot by a country mile. Big big tune. Bit of slackness but who cares?

I’ve Been In Love With You – Vybz Kartel

Another Simon (High Stakes) produced tune. Man the bro had been extremely busy in recent times. Top quality production, and you know the worl’ boss does it justice. The video is something else, though that’s what we have come to expect from Kartel since his incarceration.

Ayoo – Shatta Wale

The list is not complete without a dose of Afropop, if you hadn’t realised I am well and truly on that bandwagon. On this tune, Shatta Wale has a positive message and yet manages to bring some nice energy. Pure vibes…

Options – Pitbull X Stephen Marley

This tune has been doing the rounds lately which is great. Pitbull may not be my cup of tea, but this collab with the great Stephen Marley is on point.

Didn’t Know Me – Dre Island

In comes Dre Island…I randomly bumped into this tune the other day and had to fast track it onto the playlist. Tell me can you feel the vibes???

Samantha – Dave X J Huss

This tune has bubbled under for a few playlists now and it finally comes on. Great tune!

Blue Sea – Alaine X Kabaka Pyramid

A lovers tune for the masses. This is a number with some great energy. The collaboration works great, Alaine does her thing whilst Kabaka adds his trademark flows with the expected finesse. Tune!

Miss You So Much – Dexta Daps X Blakkman

A bit of a deep tune just to add a bit of heaviness to this particular playlist. Production and lyrical delivery on point, with a trademark big hook from the one Dexta Daps.

10 Outta 10 – Masicka

The king of slackness comes back with a whole bag of dancehall vibes. Slackness aside, this dude has some crazy flows, and his delivery is always on point. I really don’t get why he doesn’t get more plaudits, oh wait the slackness??? Right!!!!

Back to regular scheduling, hope you enjoyed this week’s playlist. Until the next time…
