Hey!!! here we are again, bringing you a fresh playlist for your listening pleasure. This week we have a very local playlist in the sense that it includes quite a few New Zealand based artists and producers. You will be the judge, but I have to stress that all the artists have made it based on the fact that I’ve been pumping their music over the last few weeks or so. Anyway, let’s get into it!

Check out the spotify playlist at the bottom of this post:

This week’s playlist, in no particular order:

Rootsman Town – Arise Roots X Capleton

This week’s playlist starts with a bang thanks to this contribution from Arise Roots alongside the king of fire Shango himself. The energy on this tune is really great, and I must say this tune has been on repeat since DJ Skarob introduced it to me.

E No Dey Easy – Unchained XL X Nuel Nonso X Phodiso Dintwe

The first NZ entry, produced and headlined by the insanely talented Unchained XL, this tune is a gem. If you haven’t heard of Unchained XL I urge you to check out a tune called “Weight on my bars”, you will see how the dude is a killer on the mic. Add Nuel Nonso of Ijebu Pleasure Club fame and Phodiso, what you get is a banger. The production in particular is what drew me to this tune and I have to salute Unchained XL for the vibes he managed to produce on this one. Big tune.

U Me Luv – Jahmiel

Jahmiel rocks through with yet another really good offering. This one is a slow tempo dancehall tune on a lovers tip. Jahmiel to his now expected standard without missing a beat. Great tune. Big ups Don for putting me onto this song.

Freedom – Sizzla X Dead Prez

Sizzla alongside M-1 from Dead Prez, what more can a youth ask for? The tune is quite chill, which is what is required when you have 2 lyrical geniuses on the track. Play it on repeat, you won’t regret it.

Walawala Dance – Triplelan

The second NZ entrant for this week, Triplelan is a beast and if you haven’t been paying attention, I am a huge fan of the brother’s music. A bit of shameless plug, we have a tune on the way together and I promise it’s as big a banger as Walawala Dance. Speaking of Walawala Dance, I have banged this tune for over a year now and can hardly get enough of the tune. Check it out and see for yourself

Toothache – Jaykae

This is a dark tune. But what would you expect from a tune as grimey as they come? This is the first time I’ve heard anything from Jaykae and I must say the song left me intrigued. Good tune.

Bend It – Maleek Berry

Maleek Berry comes through with this Afropop tune. I have been delving more and more into this artist’s career and the more I learn about his grind, the more I appreciate his music overall. This tune is just pure vibes from start to end.

Upholstery – Damian Marley X Major Myjah

This is what, the third song from Damien Marley’s album Stony Hill? Can’t say enough how the album is great and if you are into Reggae/Dancehall/Hip Hop you need to check the album yesterday. Vibes overload.

I Wasn’t Ready For You – Cassper Nyovest X Tshego

This song just hit my radar the other day, given that I didn’t give the album Thuto a chance. Well this song is deep, and Cassper pulls no punches in exposing his deepest and possibly darkest secrets and emotions. Have a listen to this one.

Body Loyal – I-Octane

Another suggestion from the homie Don. This is yet another great song from I-Octane. The riddim is nice and he does it justice. Big big tune this!

This was one of the breeziest playlist to create, I must say. See ya next week
